“Tenebrae” means “service in the shadows”. As we gather together for Good Friday, we gather as the natural light in University Lutheran wanes and our worship space becomes darker.
As we gather, we consider the suffering of Jesus that He took on our account. We also strip the altar of its normal paraments and items, as our Lord was stripped in order to be placed on the cross.
We hope that you can make it to this moving worship experience that brings the joy of Easter into a new light through its darkness.
