Hacked

His profile picture changed to a doctored photo of a billboard that announced “Excellent Crypto Trades”. Not that a pastor friend of mine couldn’t be getting into mining doge coin, it just seems unlikely. Not only that, but dangerous. Perhaps reckless.

The message I sent: “Did you get hacked?”

How often does God send us that message?

Our behaviors unfitting what we know of ourselves, what He knows of who He created us to be. Suddenly, we’re manifesting something that doesn’t seem quite right. Seems kind of fishy. Did we get hacked?

Because if we didn’t, then we just made a bad decision. A decision that doesn’t fit. It’s not who we are. It’s sin.

So what does God do? He hacks humanity. Puts Himself into our accounts by the miracle of the Incarnation. He gets into our profiles and changes us from the inside – replacing our sins with His justification, posting new pictures into our reality. He changes the password, seals us with His Holy Spirit.

He brings us back to who we really are, erasing the pictures of what shouldn’t be there and replacing them with selfies of Him and us. Smiling.
