The Gospel of John is a little….different.
Unlike the other three Gospels, John presents things in a different order that doesn’t seem to based on chronology. He doesn’t include some of the same stories that the other Gospels do (e.g. no sermon on the mount), and he gives us stories that we wouldn’t otherwise have without his Gospel (e.g. the woman at the well, turning water into wine). If you have been doing our “Together with Jesus” along with us, reading 2 chapters of the Gospels every week – you’ll notice a big difference.
If you haven’t been reading the other Gospels along with us though, this is a great time to join in. We start reading the Gospel of John on September 29 reading John 1 and 2. That means you can start with us then. You can even join in on the podcast and pick up the reading sheets that we put by the bulletins every Sunday, you could even join our Sunday morning Bible study group.
We want you to experience the Gospel of John along with us, because we firmly believe that the practice of reading the Gospels will get you closer to Jesus. It will be like walking beside Him during His ministry. His first disciples couldn’t help but be changed by walking beside Jesus, and we think it’ll be the same if you walk beside Him by reading the Gospel of John. You will grow closer to Jesus and you will grow closer to those whom You are reading along with.
So if you’ve been tracking with the Gospels with us or if you’re brand new – join us in reading John! Get closer to Jesus and closer to the Christians around you!
