An Aquarium in St. Louis

I recently got back from visiting my family in St. Louis, MO. One of the attractions that we went to see is the new St. Louis Aquarium (which a cousin of mine was a project manager for, pretty cool). The St. Louis Aquarium was housed in St. Louis’ Union Station. Union Station started off as a busy train station near department stores in downtown. But soon train tickets died down, and they refurbished Union Station as a shopping mall. Of course then shopping malls went out of fashion. So now, Union Station houses this Aquarium and St. Louis’ new Ferris wheel which is getting a lot of attention.

While we were there, my Dad remarked that it was amazing the changes in Union Station. During his childhood, he would ride the train with his mother to get to St. Louis so she could go shopping in downtown St. Louis. During my children’s childhood, they were going to see the “fish zoo,” and pet stingrays with their grandparents. The world changes. Train stations become aquariums. And even then, they only become aquariums if they’re valuable enough to escape becoming piles of rubble.

Someone decided Union Station was valuable enough that they would retrofit and aquarium into it to keep it going.

God decided you were valuable enough to put His Spirit into you.

You’re an aquarium in St. Louis. The world has changed.
