I’m coming back after some time away, and even though I still worked an average of almost 20 hours a week for church while I was “gone” there’s still some readjustment. A part of that readjustment means that things slip through the cracks, things aren’t planned for adequately, etc. This is “reentry”. 
Reentry is what we call it when an object from space attempts to get through the atmosphere. It’s a violent process. There’s shuddering, burning, g forces, etc.
There are aspects of reentry that describe our return from sin. When we confess and receive forgiveness, there’s a shift – and it’s a massive shift. It’s a shift from sin to holiness. It’s a shift from dark to light. It’s a shift, and sometimes, it feels a little violent.
After all, it came from a violent shift. That violent shift was the Son of God becoming human. That violent shift was the Son of God dying on the Cross. That violent shift was a human rising from the dead.
And the effect is similar in some ways. When we reenter, we reenter atmosphere, which means that we can breathe. That is what Jesus grants us, the ability to breathe out of His violent shift.
